Fun at Gymnastics

Saturday was Julia's first day at Little Gym's, the place where she has gymnastics. She is officially a "Bird." This is the name of the age group that she falls under, and she absolutely seems to enjoy it. We all had a great time watching Julia do forward rolls and her attempt at a cartwheel. The best was probably the warm-ups, the "jogging" around the big mat. Her little feet could only take her so fast and she could not smile big enough. This place was a hit!

On the following morning, Lawson and I are down stairs playing with Julia, when she seems to be doing something weird. She would put her face down to the ground and scoot forward with her butt in the air. While pushing herself across the floor was pretty funny to watch, we suddenly realised that she was trying to do a forward roll. So, here are some pretty fun pictures of her practicing what she had learned in the gym. What a dedicated gymnast! :)

Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do I See?

If you could be a fly on the wall in our house, these are the words that you would here over and over again. Every night after our bath, Lawson and I read Julia a bedtime story and then place the book on the nightstand. Well, this week we read Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do I See? twice. Last Saturday, Lawson's mom and dad came to visit and while they were here, Terre, asked about the books on Julia's nightstand. I told her what we had been reading, and when I said Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do I See?, Julia crawled as fast as her little legs could take her to the night stand, knocked off all the books that were on it, and found Brown Bear, Brown Bear... and said, "Brow Beah." WOW! We were in awe. Of course, I immediately ran over to her and read it about a million times to her, and she listened to every word, turned the pages, and wanted it read about a million more times. I was so proud, of my little Ju Ju Bean, and now it seems to be all we hear. All moms out there would definitely understand why I immediately had to run to the bookstore and buy Polar Bear, Polar Bear..., and Panda Bear, Panda Bear..., it just makes sense. LOL. Julia really seems to be into reading now and insists on bringing it with us everywhere we go (in the car, during breakfast, before nap time, at bedtime, during playtime, to Fry's and at 3:00 am). She is a very persistent little girl. She absolutely loves Brown Bear and when we get to the last page, she becomes a very sad little girl. She even has found a reading rhythm to the book. I cannot tell you how funny it is to watch her pick up this book and start bobbing her little head. Too funny! And now that we have this book memorized we say it to her in the car, even when we do not have the book. Needless to say, that even though it has become a family favorite, Lawson and I find ourselves wishing that there was a little bit of plot twist to this classic tale.

Blue Bonnets or Bust

We took Julia to see the blue bonnets for the first time this past week. Ju Ju Bean loved the flowers and despite the crazy wind, we got some great pictures. Her Daddy picked her a flower and she thought it was pretty cool, reminding us all how important it is to stop and smell the "blue bonnets." :)

Smiling at Mommy and Daddy, who unseen, are dancing around like a bunch of monkeys.

"My Daddy said that all of these are just for me. "

One, Two, Three, Swwiiinnnnggg!
